Flying the Flag for Merseyside Keepers

'Just4Keepers has been running successfully now for the past seven years; and over this time period we at J4K have produced more schoolboy goalkeepers than any of our top professional clubs.'

Joe Caulfield

Joe got his first break as a YTS goalkeeper at Coleraine (N.Ireland), and very quickly made a name for himself, by getting picked to represent Northern Ireland, on many occasions, and playing against some of the top clubs in the world.

As Joe's reputation grew, he was soon snapped up by Bohemians (Dublin), the champions of Ireland at the time, and the only professional club within Ireland itself.

In the two years he played for Boh's he won two league titles and also reached the last qualifying round of the champions league, where he played against the Spanish giants Deportivo, keeping the likes of Diego Tristan and co at bay to keep a clean sheet.

Joe was then spotted by Oxford United who, at the time where also in the Championship League. He played for Oxford for nearly two seasons until he ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments in a freak challenge. After a year out Joe was then put out on loan to Oxford City, Banbury and Maidenhead. But, after persistent knee problems, and a second unsuccessful knee operation, Joe decided to call it a day playing and started to concentrate on coaching.

With his experiences of playing international and champions league football at such a young age, along with being trained by experienced coaches such as Mervyn Day (Charlton Ath), David James (Portsmouth), Peter Bonetti (Chelsea) and Tony Coton (Man Utd)- which has helped him further his coaching knowledge, Joe has a massive amount to give back to the young hopefuls within his area.
