Paul Daley

Paul made his debut for Gillingham Football Club, at the age of just sixteen!

Paul started his goalkeeping career at a young age of six years old, and very quickly made a name for himself in his area, were he spent a couple of seasons with Colchester United FC.

From Colchester he went to Gillingham Football Club, were he signed a two-year deal. Paul was one of the youngest players to put on a first team shirt for Gillingham, making his debut against Torquay United at the tender age of just sixteen!

After two seasons with Gillingham, he was offered another one-year deal with this club, before Plymouth Argyle came in for him. After a season with Plymouth, Paul went onto play for Dagenham and Redbridge, were he made many appearances; by far his favourite was at Wembley were he played against Woking for the 1997 FA Trophy.

Paul has also played for Rymans league teams, Braintree Town, Billericay Town and Sittingbourne.

Even to this present day, Paul still plays at a high level with Enfield Town. (so Paul's students can watch him play to this day... and give him some stick if he lets in a silly goal)!

Paul states that he enjoyed his time in professional football, 'but now it's time to give something back to the local children in his area.'

Being coached by Lloyd Scott, Andy Gun, Ray Potter and the 'legend' Neville Southall, does indeed put Paul in a marvellous position to give something back to the young hopefuls in North Essex.
