David Evans

David never started off in goal straight away as a youngster favouring to play left back instead as goalkeeper. However even though he never played as goalkeeper straight away, he remembers always training in goal at grass root level as a child and wanting to play in goal rather than play outfield.

When his goalkeeper got injured, he jumped at the chance to play in goal when his manager asked who wanted to play between the sticks And he has been there ever since!

Before moving up north from Essex, David played for the youth teams at a couple of semi professional teams before he moved to Warrington with his family. David signed into the Warrington league and was scouted straight away by Liverpool and then Bury football clubs.

However because of his height he was not given a full time contract. So David decided to go into coaching and play semi professional in the Unibond however a snapped knee ligament stopped him his tracks before he got going with his semi professional career.

David then had no choice but to throw all his goalkeeper enthusiasm into his coaching and he is currently level 2 qualified and is currently taking his level 3 (UEFA B) certification.

As well as running his own goalkeeper training schools, David is also a coach for Preston North End.
