collegesportusa are the sole provider for just4keepers to get our students to the USA and we are VERY proud to be associated with David Binnie and his company.
A scholarship in the USA is an opportunity to gain an education while playing university football generally up to four years.
However if you think playing football for a USA university is small time... THINK AGAIN!
If you are lucky enough to get a scholarship in the states, not only will you play in some state of the art stadiums, you will actually play in front thousands of people, plus have facilities that are second to none at your disposal!
Not forgetting you are gaining an education at the same time, which is priceless!
For players who have had the experience of playing in the USA, they will tell you the facilities and the way you are treated is as close as you will get to becoming a premiership player.
What have you got to do to qualify?
To gain a scholarship in the USA, you obviously have to have ability as a goalkeeper but also have a good education, or are prepared to work towards one.
Another bonus is the universities are not looking for a goalkeeper who is 7ft 10inches!! For the keepers who have tried to get into professional clubs, you know what we mean when we say that professional clubs are so focused on a keeper being massive they over look quality. Well with the USA set up, if you are good (and bright) enough, you have a chance no matter your height.
So hopefully this will give confidence to the talent out there that are probably good enough for a pro contract but overlooked because they are 5ft 10inces!
Important: If you are someone who is not committed and will not take an unbelievable opportunity by the horns, this opportunity is not for you. The USA university program has a strict code of conduct, so if you mess about, they will ship you back home without hesitation!
Also depending on what university you go to will depend on what scholarship you actually get. Some scholarships you will have to pay a certain percentage towards your education, where at other universities 100% of the fees are paid for you. Which is pretty exciting!
How can Just4Keepers help you?
If you are aged between 17 and 22 get in contact with the J4K coach nearest you. You will have to train with one of our coaches so he can assess your ability and if he thinks you are good enough, he will put your name forward.
If you do not want to attend a Just4Keepers class we hold Just4keepers USA assessment days once every 3 months. So if you are interested, email USA@just4keepers.co.uk and put your name and contact details forward.
